Dedicated Camp Counselors

Camp Timberlane carefully selects the men and women of our staff for their interest and commitment to working with children.  Each staff member meets a high standard of dedication and skill.  Interviews are conducted, references are checked and background checks are completed.  Staff members attend an intense orientation, which emphasizes counseling skills, group dynamics, safety procedures and activity skills.  Our staff forms a strong, committed team with a single focus: a safe summer filled with fun, learning and growth opportunities for each camper.

Some our counselors began as campers and grew up at Timberlane. Many stay on through their university years returning each summer to become experienced and valuable staff members.  They know every phase of camp life from personal experience.  The one comment we hear most often from a parent is, “Your staff really care about their campers.” They do, and it is one of the principal reasons why Timberlane is so special.
